Vientos 7-Piece Band

Euphoric folk snogging Latin rock, drenched in harmony

Alex Etchart & Vientos weave Latin folk roots into wild rock and euphoric electronica to get crowds jumping to an earthy, girthy new sound. Dusky South American ballads kiss British & Irish folk melodies. Glorious synth pads are peppered with tropical percussion. Enter a cinematic dancescape of fierce love in diáspora.

Fresh off a UK tour to Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Brighton and Machynlleth, Vientos connects Colombian Bullerengue percussion to glitchy sampling & glam rock harmonies to fill the dancefloor with hope and catharsis.

Vientos Acoustic Trio

River deep, mountain wide, euphoric folk for earthy utopias

The Vientos trio weave dusky South American ballads into British and Irish folk melodies, to tell emotive stories in glorious three partharmony. Virtuosic violin and bass clarinet layer warmth and soul into bilingual poetry that invites us to be our highest selves, holding nothing back.

In 2025 the trio debuted at London's seminal Latin American music festival La Linea, formed part of the esteemed SOAS concert series, filled Stage 2 the Land Skills Festival and headlined London's Interfaith Festival.

Vientos del Pueblo Storytelling Show

A history of South American revolutions through folk song

Vientos del Pueblo is a 1-2hr music and storytelling show about how folk singers were integral to the revolutions and resistances of the 60s and 70s in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay and how those songs developed into a panamerican folk canon sung by millions of people to this day.

It is at once a personal, political and intergenerational show in Spanish and English full of Alex' original translations, sung, spoken and printed.

Informative • Interactive • Inspiring

Performed with the wonderful Peruvian musician and theatre maker Pepa Duarte and guitarist Alex Keeley (depending on availability) the show explores how those stories have been passed down, preserved and evolved in exile through the South American diaspora in London.

The audience are invited to join in from start to finish, and to connect to the brave and prescient poetry in the music at that time, and to draw lessons from history and geography to explore the role of cultural practitioners in spreading change.

We ask: "What is the role of the folk singer, in Britain, today?"
